Layout Artist for Aubry's Mom

I am a little slow on updating my blog but I got awesome news in January! I am a new layout artist for Amy, aka Aubrey's Mom. She has some really cute kits out already and quite a few new ones coming out when her store Hooked on Digiscraps opens. You can find Amy's kits on her blog for now, http://scrappinbyaubreysmom.blogspot.com/. (I am sure that I will figure out how to make a pretty link at some point - lol). I even figured out how to put up the blinkie she made me - isn't it cool?

As you can see, I spent quite a bit of time learning how to make backgrounds and headers for my blog and while they are not perfect, they are a start. I used one of Amy's kits - Preteen Love - for all of the designs. If you like it, you are more than welcome to contact her on her blog to pick up the pack. I am enclosing the preview in this post so you can see just how cute it really is.

I have another one of her packs that I am currently playing with and can't wait to finish so I can show you more.

Projects

Well, I am finally getting down to business and doing things that I absolutely love. I just signed on as a member of the creative team at http://www.digiscrapstation.com/ and am doing layouts for the designers there. My first set of layouts was done using this awesome kit called Gingerbread Dreams by HeavenlyScraps. I also used one of her double page templates and her bracket frames. If you are interested, you can find her items at the store here: http://digiscrapstation.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_24

Excitement

Well, I have new pictures for my 365 project this week, my eldest son cut open his elbow on Saturday and we spent about an hour in the emergency room getting x-rays and three stitches. I can say that our ER is probably the fastest I have ever encountered. Of course, I was hopeing not to see the inside of an ER again since we used to practically live there when the boys were younger.

Today the boys were off of school for MLK Jr. day and they spent their time playing video games and hanging out with friends. Without them around it was very quiet. I had my best friend, Terry, over again today and I introduced her to the joys of digital scrapping. I am getting better and much quicker and I was impressed that she got her first two-page layout done in the time allotted.

I have discovered that I have entirely too much free stuff and not enough of the really good comprehensive kits. Since Scrapgirls is having their really good sale this week I am going to correct that issue.

So, here are the pages that I finished today. I used a few of the free kits I have collected during the last year and have made none of these papers or elements. If you are interested you can leave me a comment and I will figure out who actually made these cool things.

WoW

So, I was online this morning, spending quite a bit of time typing, uploading pages and even put in a huge conversation about my insanity last week of shopping at Garden Ridge. Once done, I made sure everything was pretty, happy and just the way I like it. Long story short, I seem to have two blogs (don't have a CLUE how that happened) and this morning's work was on posted on that one. Now, I get to recreate the wheel and do it all over again.

I have been having lots of fun scrapping! This whole new creativity has carried over to different areas of my life and my husband and I have finally settled on a color for the livingroom as well. Since I will need the scaffolding for that (and I am not really keen on heights) I am going to wait until Wayne is home so that he can get up on the two story ladder.

Here are the layouts that I have been working on and with the exception of one group of photos I am finally finished with my Christmas pictures. Please remember that I have created none of the papers and embellishments that I have on these pages and will be putting up the credits on these pages within the week. This is all information that I am going to have to collect again (get it off the other blog actually)

The kids and I spent the day decorating the house for Christmas and while it was sparser that I am used to, I was happy with it.

I put together a few more scrapbook pages from MOriginals' templates and the collaborative effort of the Holly Jolly Express blog train that left the station in December. I am so excited and I can't wait to do more.

These last two weeks of vacation have just flown by and I have been entirely too busy doing nothing to actually deep clean my house. Since hubby went back to work today, and the boys go back tomorrow I need to make a concerted effort to finish laundry and tackle the chores so no scrapping tomorrow. I do have my pictures for the 365 project done through today and MOriginals has another template that she has done for the weeks that I plan on using. She really is a talented artist.

I did it

I finally did it, I made my very first digital layout. Granted, it was a quick page and a part of a tutorial, but I DID IT. It is just the beginning, I am already starting on my Christmas pictures for the year.

I am also working on my 365 project photos and finding the templates I want to use so that I actually keep up with that project.
